Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master’s Program

The Canadian Graduate Scholarships provide financial back up to high caliber students who are engaged in the Master’s or doctoral programs in Canada. It includes:

  • Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) Program - Doctoral Scholarships
    The Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) Program - Doctoral Scholarships provides scholarships to doctoral students who have achieved academic excellence in their undergraduate and graduate studies in the area of social sciences and humanities.
  • Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) Program - Master's Scholarships
    It provides funding to those who are pursuing full time studies at the masters’s level in social sciences and humanities field.
    Eligibility Criteria: The applicant must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada; be enrolled in graduate program at the master’s or doctoral level at a Canadian university with a CGS M allocation; have completed, as of December 31 of the year of application, between zero and 12 months of full-time studies in the master’s course of study, or the doctoral program for which the funds are requested, or a master’s program wherein the funding requests for a doctoral program and have attained a first-class average, as defined by the host university, in the last two completed years of study.

Scholarships offered by Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada

C. D. Howe Scholarship

The C.D. Howe Scholarship is given to students from all disciples.
Eligibility Criteria: They should be a Canadian citizen or residents of Thunder Bay or the formal constituency of Port Aethur and must also receive a minimum average of 80% in the last three semesters of studies.

ConocoPhillips Canada Centennial Scholarship Program

This scholarship is presented to students pursuing environmental/sustainable development studies or oil and gas related studies.

Eligibility Criteria: The applicant must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and hold a minimum average of 70% (or equivalent) in the final academic year of studies. Besides, the applicant must be nominated by the eligible institution from the noted oil and gas related studies category and environmental/sustainable development studies.

The C.D. Howe Scholarship Endowment Fund National Engineering Scholarship

This scholarship is given in the area of Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria: The Applicants are selected by deans of engineering only. Each university may nominate two candidates (one male and one female) who have completed the first year of an engineering program at a Canadian institution and getting in their 2nd year of the course of study. The candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.

Fessenden- Trott Scholarship

All fields of study are eligible for Fessenden-Trott Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria: Applications are by nomination by the candidate’s university. Each university may nominate one candidate; who have completed the first year of their first bachelor degree program and entering their 2nd year of the program. The candidates must have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.

Bayer Crop Science Scholarship for Future Leaders in Agriculture

This scholarship is for agricultural programs of studies 

Eligibility Criteria: Canadian citizen entering the first year or currently enrolled in full time agricultural bachelor degree program are eligible for this scholarship.

Mattinson Endowment Fund Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

All disciplines are eligible for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria: The candidates must be Canadian citizens or have lived in Canada for at least two years as permanent residents and must be diagnosed with a documented permanent disability. Also, the candidates must have a minimum average of 85%.

Horatio Alger Canada Scholarship Program

All disciplines are eligible at the diploma, associate or bachelor level for this scholarship program.

Eligibility Criteria: This scholarship program is open to students in Quebec, Ontario, BC or Alberta. It is given to those who have proven financial need. The applicant must be a Canadian citizen and hold a minimum percentage of 65 with active involvement in extra curricula and community work.

TD Scholarship for Community Leadership

All branches of study are eligible for TD Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria: The applicant must be a Canadian citizen, in final year of high school (or CEGEP in Quebec) and must express outstanding community leadership and academic skills.

Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Endowment Fund for Study in a Second Official Language Award

All disciplines, except translation are given this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria: Applications are by nomination by the candidate's university. Each member institution of the AUCC may nominate only one candidate and the application must be duly endorsed by that institution. The Candidate must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and must be enrolled in the second or third year of their first bachelor degree program. Candidates attending an institution in Quebec can be enrolled in the first year of their first bachelor degree program.

Nexen Oil Sands Scholarship Program

All disciplines are eligible.

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must be a high School Graduate Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
Type of Scholarships:
  • University/College: Applicable towards full-time studies for applicants entering the initial year of a first bachelor degree program or the first diploma program or a first certificate program.

  • Apprenticeship: Applicable towards apprenticeship technical training (class room studies) of an eligible apprenticeship program.
