The education in Canada is theresponsibility of federal, provincial and local government. There is no centralministry of education at federal or national level in Canada.

Education in Canada isdivided into three segments

1. Elementary (PrimarySchool, Public School),
2. Secondary School (HighSchool), and
3. Post Secondary School (University, College).

The department of education throughdistrict school boards administers education within a province. Canadianchildren start attending school at the age of 6 years. Junior kindergarten isavailable in some provinces. Education in Canada is compulsory up to an ageof 16 years.

Publicly funded high school education is offered in differentlocations. Education in Canada isavailable in French and English language.
